An Irish Blessing.

guardian-angel-0111

May flowers always line your path

and sunshine light the way.

May songbirds serenade you

every step along the way.

May a rainbow run beside you

in a sky that’s always blue

And may happiness fill your heart

each day your  whole life through!

Just for YOU!

… and yes it is possible to have all these gifts everyday of our lives I have seen many do so even in the face of painful deaths from cancer. All it takes is being able to remain in the moment and be a peaceful, joyful, contented observer of our life and  rest in the knowledge that we are here to grow in love and beauty. This is a great challenge but one many people succeed at through practising meditation or praying.  Trials are opportunities. They come and go, so often providing new or deeper connections with the people who support us at  these times. No moment lasts and the sum of them all define us as the unique, beautiful soul that we are. We write our life’s story not just by how we act but by how we react. The energy we give out not only touches those around us but also the greater energy of this world. By sending out loving kindness to all and most importantly by including ourselves, we are creating a new more beautiful world.

Namaste. Enjoy you journey and many blessings. Brita

A Blessing Called Bob.

free-download-3d-nature-wallpapers-desktop

We have a very special friend called Bob who has been in our lives for many, many years. I would love to post his picture for you  but he would hate it. As his name suggests he seems at first meeting a down to earth, ordinary bloke but perceptions are seldom accurate, Bob is truly amazing!

He, like many, would do anything to help anyone but these days he does stuff everyday to help everyone!

Did I hear you say “Wow!”?

What he does is he gives as well as receives. His gift’s are the priceless treasures that lift your spirit and inspire you and when you get them you immediately tuck them away in your heart for a rainy day when the world looks grim and hope seems a very fragile thing. They don’t cost him a lot, just a kind thought and the click of a mouse for they have been sent as emails to him from all over the world by friends that he has met in his travels. Bob seldom sends stuff about himself and what he’s up to but everyone loves his emails and he sends lots because Bob has always been generous. Each day you receive beautiful picture, jokes, incredible stories and today this one that I just had to share. It said on the bottom

“Share this with someone you want blessed.”

I hope you are blessed by it as I was.

Most of all I pray that Bob is blessed for just being Bob!

Namaste Brita.

EVERYTHING I NEEDED TO KNOW, I LEARNED FROM NOAH’S ARK.

1. Don’t miss the boat.

2. Remember that we are all in the same boat!

3. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.

4. Stay fit. When you’re sixty years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

5. Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

6. Build your future on high ground.

7. For safety sake travel in pairs.

8. Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

9. When you’re stressed, float awhile.

10. Remember the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

11. No matter what the storm, when you are with God, there is always a rainbow waiting.

A Blessing To Hold Tight Forever!

8590_384260345036973_183450149_n

Each day brings new beauty into our lives, sometimes in ways so subtle that we fail to catch it. I have just had the privilege of sharing with a beautiful lady who after many years of marriage was waiting for her husband to pass into the spirit world. She was sharing with me how lucky she was to have such a loving husband and told me that her son had said” I have never seen or experienced anywhere else the tremendous love you two have.” She said his comment embarrassed her a little, as his wife was there, so she pointed out to them that this was because they were too young. “Love grows,” she said ” With time and with greater knowledge of each other, working on respect and increasing wisdom you learn love is deeper than you ever dreamed. It grows to encompass friendship, contentment, true joy and the memories of shared experiences both good and not so good. After many years it is the friendship and knowing you are always there for each other that really matters.” Such wisdom! What a wonderful gift she had given. I do so hope he was able to grasp it tightly with both hands and never let it go. It was a great reminder for me that until ego fades and allows us to find joy in another’s joy we can never hope to experience love deeply. It is in giving we receive. Namaste.

(I would appreciate if someone can let me know who produced this beautiful poster so I can acknowledge them)

A NEW YEAR BEGINS.

P1080254 (2)

This is my first post for 2014 and I send you all the old Irish Blessing.

May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue,

And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.

We have just returned from holidays and as I reflect on the wonderful times shared with our beautiful friends and family I feel such joy and gratitude that they are there, no matter what, with so much unconditional love and never judging my stumbling efforts to navigate life’s path. I saw a wonderful poster the other day it said

” Life under construction. Thank you for your patience!”

The friends I cherish have patience in abundance and I love them dearly.

I finally had some time to catch up on reading and as always have learned so much from reading of other peoples lives and experiences. How different, yet how similar all our lives are and how true today are the past words of great thinkers who wrote of life’s lessons, many years ago.

Some that resonated deeply with me were:-

“Be content with what you have,

rejoice in the way things are.

When you realise there is nothing lacking,

the whole world belongs to you.   Lao Tzu

And this one may be appropriate to the old year as well as to each day…

“Finish each day and be done with it,

You have done what you could.

Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in,

forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day,

you shall begin it well and serenely.”   Ralph Waldo Emerson.

There are no new lessons in life, just new people rediscovering the old ones. We have so much to learn. My deepest thanks goes out to all who share their lives, experiences and insights, both in print and here on their wonderful blogs.

A final thought,

“We are stronger in the places we’ve been broken.”   Ernest Hemingway.

Have a most blessed day.

Namaste.

Rain Renews Hope!

Rain

This picture was taken by an incredible Australian, professional photographer Peter Carroll,( who waited 35 years to capture this and a series of other amazing shots of rain on the mighty rock that sits at Australia’s heart, Ularu. ( If you would like to see more of his rare and beautiful work or to get permission to use it please visit his web site, http://www.petercarrollphoto.com )

Last night it rained here, it hadn’t been 35 years since rain but it seemed that long if not longer to the farmers around her and it was, as rain always is, miraculous. This morning everything was changed, brighter, more colourful and more alive! Birds and wildlife were everywhere and the air sang with their songs of thanksgiving. Life seemed more hopeful and people had a smile on their face as they greeted each other. It will take a while yet before the really needed changes to pastures and crops are apparent and follow up rain is vital but the showers we had brought HOPE and with hope we are stronger and better able to carry our load whatever it is. A Little HOPE is always A BIG BLESSING! Can you spread some today, I will try to. We could all do with a lot more. Namaste,

A Prayer For You from Lama Tendar.

” May you have happiness and inner peace.

May the universe be free from suffering, disease and negative influences

and you be filled with joy and peace.

May you complete the perfection of effort by striving

for the enlightenment of all sentient beings

with unwavering compassion.”

Venerable Lobsang Tendar

Always smiling, Lama Tendar has lived a life few could believe. Born in into a large poor rural family in Tibet( where he didn’t even have shoes), leaving them to study and become a monk while still a child, imprisoned by the Chinese, nearly dying, fleeing to India, now living in Australia, sharing the home of a wonderfully enlightened Catholic priest and setting up The Tibetan Children’s Fund. (see widget to find out more).to educate poor children in Tibet, and recently opening The Medicine Buddha Tantrayana  Meditation Center in Victoria, Australia. Lama Tendar has already seen more of life than most of us will ever experience. Yet he remains full of hope, love for all and above all compassion.

His faith and practice not only sustain him daily, in the past they have saved his life.

A beautiful, man, totally without pretension of any kind or any of the trappings of wealth and success, his love, compassion and wisdom inspire all fortunate enough to cross his path.

(see “Freedom To Love” by Hong Curley to read her journey to enlightenment and how he has inspired her and her family. ISBN 978-1-62776-804-7)

I would recommend everyone google Lama Tendar or use the link widget to Tibetan Children’s Fund to find out more about this amazing man.

He has changed my life and that of my husband over the years we have known him.

 HE IS A TRUE BLESSING.
